As the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, Cairns is the perfect base to explore beautiful beaches and breathtaking rainforests, with year-round tropical weather, brilliant cafes and bustling markets. The region offers a truly fantastic lifestyle, where you can enjoy fishing after work in the Summer before the sun goes down at 7pm, a BBQ at the beach even in the Winter time and experience the unique wildlife and flora of the Daintree rainforest on your weekends.

Looking for your next opportunity?
In the midst of a huge growth period, Hawker Pacific is now looking to expand their team, with multiple opportunities for B1 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAME), Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) and Aircraft Structures Engineers to join their facility in Cairns, QLD!
Working on both light and heavy aircraft maintenance, in a large purpose-built hangar, you'll need the experience or qualifications necessary for:
Fokker 70/100 (RRD Tay);
Bombardier DHC-8-400 (PWC PW150);
ATR 42-400/500/72-212A (PWC PW120);
Bombardier DHC-8-100/200/300 (PWC PW120); and
Saab (SF) 340 (GE CT7).
You will need a broad knowledge of aircraft maintenance and experience working in an aircraft maintenance facility.
Project management experience would be a bonus, but not essential provided you can demonstrate an excellent customer focus and a strong understanding of aviation regulations and industry requirements for aircraft maintenance.
Working on a range of major contracts and with a strong reputation for high quality work, Hawker Pacific is currently undergoing a major growth phase. You will be surprised at the size of the facility and the sheer amount of exposure to different aircraft types that will support your career development.
Your hard work will be rewarded with a wage rate dictated by your qualifications and the role, with the AME position ranging from $59,000 - $67,000 and the LAME position starting from $66,000 - $90,000 plus allowances based on your experience and licenses. Relocation, accommodation and flight packages are negotiable for candidates across Australia and New Zealand, to help you get settled in town.
These roles would cover a variety of rosters, with the majority from Monday to Friday plus occasional weekend shifts (no more than twice a month). If you're working outside regular hours, you'll have access to additional allowances/penalty rates, including 15% morning/afternoon loading and time and a half for weekend work.
Hawker Pacific is proud to offer an active and family-friendly environment, as well as four weeks annual leave and thirteen weeks long service leave - more generous than the current state legislation!
